“Learning is not always easy, but it is always possible!”

Toward the end of my senior year in high school, my Biology teacher approached me and said “do not leave college without a teaching certificate.” I initially did not understand why she would say this since I was not a top student in Biology. But, perhaps she saw something that I did not see. While pursuing Chemical engineering in college, I volunteered in lower income communities with children and tutored at my local university to pay for school. By my third year, I had stop fighting against that love in my heart for education and working with students and I changed my major to Mathematics Education and I have never turned back. I can honestly say that I have never been more fulfilled and passionate than when sitting with my students and seeing them find hope again in their ability to succeed. I have worked with hundreds of students who often attribute their success to my abilities, but it is truly their potential that shines forth when they have the support they need to tackle difficult situations!
